This contract is between Janice Tyler, referred to as Seller, and

__________________________, referred to as Buyer.

 Buyer agrees to keep Cat indoors in a clean environment and to provide proper nutrition, health care and affection. Under no circumstances will this Cat be abandoned or given or sold to a shelter, pet store or research facility of any kind. In the event Buyer is unable or unwilling to keep and properly maintain Cat, Buyer agrees that Seller shall be notified and given first opportunity to relocate Cat.

The Cat is purchased as a pet only. Selling price is substantially reduced from what this Cat would sell for as a breeding cat. If Cat has not already been spay/neutered prior to purchase, Buyer agrees to have the Cat spay/neutered by a veterinarian prior to the cat reaching the age of 6 months (______________). Proof of altering, describing the cat, and signed and dated by the veterinarian, must be provided to Seller within 30 days of the Cat attaining said age. Upon proof of altering, TICA registration papers will be furnished to Buyer.

If no proof of spay/neuter for this Cat has been received by Seller by the date of ______________, Buyer agrees to pay Seller an additional $1000, the difference between pet and breeder price.

This Cat is guaranteed to be FeLV and FIV negative, and in good health at time of delivery and for a period of 5 days thereafter. Seller strongly urges Buyer to have Cat examined by a veterinarian during the 5 day guarantee. If at this examination, Cat is found to be deficient medically, it may be returned for either A) a full refund or B) treatment by Sellers veterinarian. If Cat is not examined by a veterinarian within this 5 day period, the future health of the Cat is at Buyers own risk. This guarantee is void if Cat is not isolated from other cats during 5 day guarantee. Seller assumes no responsibility for costs of any medical treatment by Buyers veterinarian unless approved by Seller prior to treatment.

Cat is guaranteed against hereditary defects for two years. Should the cat die within that time as a direct result of a hereditary defect, an appropriate necropsy must be performed by a veterinarian and a vet's certificate provided as proof of cause of death. A replacement will be made of a cat of comparable quality and value, as available, OR a cash refund. Seller shall determine whether to replace or refund.

By signing this contract, Buyer acknowledges that he/she has read, understands, agrees to, and has received a copy of this contract. This contract is legally binding to all parties involved. Neither party shall have the right to modify it except by mutual agreement, in writing. Changes or additions must be initialed by all parties. In the event of a dispute, jurisdiction of this contract shall be in the municipality of the Sellers residence.
